The spirit of Bed and Breakfast
It's the real thing!
While many B&B's are taking the corporate approach, it's still possible to find a few cases of hospitable people opening their historic homes to welcome guests. Ms. Ann Harper is one of those people. A Charleston fixture for decades, she gives personal attention to her guests, from advice on the hidden Charleston, to a full homemade Southern breakfast. As one Innkeeper said "Ms. Ann Harper is the spirit of Bed and Breakfast".
Ms. Harper's home is a traditional Charleston single house, ca. 1870. Located at 56 Smith Street in Historic Charleston's residential section, everything is within easy walking distance.
The guest quarters consist of a main bedroom, a sitting area with television, an adjoining single bedroom for a third member of your party, and a private bath. Every morning starts with a full sit-down breakfast, prepared at your convenience from sun up to 9am.
Ms. Ann Harper opens her cozy home to guests year round. Rates are from $95 to $120 depending on the season. Reservations are recommended with a two night minimum.
